Robbie Gil is a singer/songwriter out of New York City, who grew up in Fairfield County, Conecticut. His singing voice and writing ability has been compared to Bruce Springsteen, Cat Stevens, Joe Cocker, Roger Daltry and Ray Lamontagne and his stage presence has been hailed as “incredibly energetic”. He has just released his 2nd full-length album, “Save Yourself” which deals with going through darkness and despair and finding one’s way to a lighter, healthier, happier lifestyle. Robbie has been quite successful in New York. He has been playing The Living Room, Bitter End, Mercury Lounge and most recently a residency at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2, (The Big Room), for the last 8 months and has been drawing 130 people+ steadily and also just sold it out for the release show (200 people). This past year, Robbie has been awarded as one of the Best Emerging Artists of 2009 by the National Songwriter Hall of Fame. He has also written and recorded an original song, “I’m Not Even Here” for the upcoming feature film, “Happy New Year” about veterans returning home from Iraq. Robbie is now trying to broaden his audience by touring in 2011. He has been talking with both independent and major record labels and hopes to be able to reach more people in the upcoming year.
